Extra clip when batch caputuring
Hi folks.
Got a bit of a strange one when re-capturing clips for onlining . The sequence was cut on an Avid, which I’ve imported in with Automatic Duck’s pro importer. Out of the 1,000+ edits, 10 of them have thrown up a problem where they want to take in an additional clip, with different timecode information from anything on the tape (ie, tape starts at 05:00:00:00 and it’s asking for a start TC of 00:00:00:00. As that clip can’t be found, FCP leaves the clip offline in the browser.
This only happens with audio clips that have two channels. When I look at the timeline, one channel captures, while the other doesn’t – and I’m assuming the other one is tagged with the wrong TC information. Sure, the simple way to get round this is manually re-capture that part of the clip, but I’d rather try to iron out these problems before they start showing their faces.
So does anyone know why this happens? I’ve taken a screen section of the batch-capture window so you know what I’m on about. It’s just the one clip I’ve set to batch capture, yet you’ll see it wants two tapes entered. Go to https://www.fairlineproductions.com/images/grab_example.jpg to see it.
Thanks in advance.
