external video not working
So i was editing in FCP 5.0 on OS 10.3.9 on my powerPC G4 1.33 ghz. It was acting clunky and jerky..so i upgraded to 10.4.3 (i was told FCP 5 works better with 10.4 over 10.3). now lo and behold, fcp 5 no longer recognizes my deck. that part was all working fine before. I tried different FW cables and different FW ports (even bypassing my drives and trying straight from the computer–besides the drives are recognized so it’s not the ports)…no go…even tried different cameras/decks. What the @#$%^&* is going on?
I’ve tried refreshing my av decks and it still tells me my apple FW NTSC is missing.
ARGH.

One of FCP’s little anomolies!
In FCP go to View / External Video / then select All Frames
Should sort it out

Already tried that…problem is just below that option under View, and Video Playback…it tells me that my FW option is missing. Yet i’m all plugged up and ready to go as i had been before i installed os x .4….any other ideas??? would love it to be something simple –due to poor brain cells this late in the evening, but i’m scared it’s something bigger.

There have been a few instances of this after upgrades so apple has posted a fix it on their website.

I have the same problem. I can’t select all frames. I’ve tried everything I’m using G5 fcp5 sony hvd fx1. I need to know what I can do in prefs that will allow me to see the video on my camcorder. I’ve been at this for hours and seem to be stuck in a loop. Please help
