    AVID HD 5.0 – PC

Man what a day! Created and captured a whole project on an external drive. I take the drive to be used on another computer and it opens the projects but my bins aren’t there. So I go to open the bins and the folders where they lie are restricted!!! Says “Access Denied.” I unchecked the read only box but nothing. Any way I can get around that, and if not what do I have to do in the original machine to make sure I can take the drive else where without this problem.

Go to control panel and then folder option and look in the view tab to uncheck, “use simple file sharing”. Then select all your Avid files, right click to go to properties, then select the sharing and security tab.
Select the user permisions.. Add a user, and call it Everyone.
Give the Everyone user full access and control of/to the files.
    Apply, and exit.
