  • External Playback monitor while keeping both viewers on main monitor

    Hello all,

I’d like to have an external playback monitor but keep both viewers on my main monitor. Possible? If it requires a Matrox box (or similar) what is the hardware I need? I know I can place viewers on the external monitor, but it removes it from the main monitor. I want to keep them in both locations.

    Thanks in advance!

    Steve

setting AV Out to on in the menu should tell FCPX to use your external monitor as a broadcast display.

Thanks. For some reason, I’m not able to make any change to that setting. You’re talking about in preferences/playback, correct?

You’re in the right spot. How is your monitor connected to the Mac? From memory it has to be connected via HDMI to show up.
