    Help needed…

I’m using FCE and running a firewire to my camera, then out to a small tv. I’ve had no problems until today,

For some reason today, they (the camera & tv) are playing the audio from the timeline but the video is a still image. It DOESN’T say “render needed”. I’m just staring at a still image as I listen to the audio. When timeline is paused the image switches to a still of current paused frame.

    Thanks you.

Your Timeline and video output do not match. That is why you see a still image and not motion video.

Thank you very much for the fast response. I’m sorry but I’m pretty green on FC.

VIDEO OUT is set to Firewire NTSC, but I dont know where to change my Timeline output (and to whay exactly?)

    Thanks again.

[drew jones] “what does that mean?”

What type of a Sequence are you cutting on?

Your Sequence type probably cannot be played out in realtime via Firewire. Generally only DV, DV50, HDV and DVCPro HD can play out in realtime via Firewire. Any other Sequence type will only appear in still frame when you’re not playing.
