External monitor looks in-sync but not FCP
I’m shooting at 24 fps, P2 / 720p, and the footage looks out of sync on my timeline but OK on my exterior monitor. What gives?

System Settings > Playback Control. Adjust your playback offset. Try an offset of Zero.

Are you monitoring sound coming from a deck or straight from your computer?
There will be a very slight (but noticable) delay from sound that comes from an external source (like a DV deck connected via firewire)
or similar setup.Just an idea…
Export to quicktime and double check the sync…its probably okay if this is your issue…

What Kevin says. Your Playback offset is not set up correctly. Default is 4, but for any system with a capture card it should probably be set to 0.
