Hello, I’m new to this forum. Has anyone experienced a horrible flickering wavy image viewing HDV in FCP on an external monitor? It has happened on both a consumer TV and on my 24″ Dell LCD using composite and component connections. My system is a G5 2.3Ghz DC and I’m using the LHe card to downconvert the original HDV 1080/50i footage.
I’ve noticed that it worked fine if I turn on the external monitor before turning on the computer but haven’t tested it enough to say that that’s the reason. Does anyone have an explanation?

You have checked the secondary setting in the Aja Kona Control Panel and made sure it is something that your TV can handle?

How is the TV connected? Component? Y/C? Does it do it if the monitor is showing the Apple desktop?

    Good Luck,

Ext TV monitor connected by composite and LCD by component. Both had problems even displaying the desktop but turning on the monitors first seems to do the trick so far. Thanks.
