External grading CRT monitor not giving enough Chroma in FCP set up?
I have an Apple G5 Powermac Dual 2 gig with the very latest Final Cut 5 studio suite.
I am using a JVC TM-H150CG 15 inch CRT video monitor for grading colour and checking levels etc.
This Monitor is set up thus:
FireWire from G5 into a Canopus TwinPact100 analogue to digital converter (like AD-VC100). Then from the Canopus I have the composite (yellow) video lead going into the JVC CRT monitor via a BNC connector.
Set up like this the chroma (colour) is just not enough; even when set to maximum it seems to be not saturated enough for my taste. The colour on the Mac computer monitor (latest 20 inch flat-panal LCD with metal edges) is nicely saturated and very punchy, whilst the JVC looks very de-saturated in comparison.
