external drives
I recently got back from a trip, and three of my external hard drives are acting up.
One is a 2.5″ drive in a ‘SATA’ casing (Model TBS12T) with eSATA,FW800, and USB ports.
One is a WD MyBook with FW400 and USB ports.
And the thrid is an older one that I don’t have on-hand right now.The 2.5″ drive, I’ve always used with FW800. It’s working, but it’s taking a major amount of wiggling of the cable to get my laptop to recognize it.
The MyBook isn’t turning on at all–although I did see it’s blue light flicker for a half second at one point.I should be able to put the 2.5″ in a new casing and see if that makes the difference…but can I do the same with the MyBook? It doesn’t seem easy to open…
Any advice would be much appreciated.
