  external drive issues – pc to mac.HELP!!

  I have files on a pc formated external
  I need to get files off a mac on to that pc formatted external
  it will not copy.

  question….

  can I format a drive as MS-DOS from my mac and copy my files from the Mac to the external for use on the PC
  network – can I network from a Mac to PC (to copy the files) via fire wire? if so, how
  or
  can I network from mac to pc via eathernet? and how? does it need to be cross over? and how.

  ah man…..
  please give me some suggestions. Id rather just have the external work
