  • External burner but Encore writes to internal drive?

Posted by Tim Taylor on March 16, 2008 at 8:36 pm

I am trying to get Encore to write to my external DVD writer, but every time I export directly to disc from Premiere Pro CS3 (i.e. I don’t want to author menus) Encore insists on using my internal drive!

I’ve read about changing the cable order of drives, but this is a laptop with an external drive so changing cable order is not possible.

Can anyone offer suggestions what I might do next?

Are Adobe aware of this bug, as it is a bug when you can’t select which drive you want to burn to!

Or am I missing something in the set up?

Cancel the build once you are in Encore, then go to the Build tab and change which drive to burn to. Then build/burn again.

    Thanks….

I’ve set the external drives drive letter to one that is alphabetically before the internal one, and now it is seen as default by Encore.

A bad shortcoming by Adobe IMO
