    Please help,

When I try to open FCP 5.1.4 installed in my MacPro system, I get this: “Unable to locate the following eternal devices – Apple FireWire NTSC (720×480). Then it tells me that my system configuration may have changed or my deck/camera may be disconnected or turned off.

But that is not true. I connected my camera through firewire and made sure that it is turned. However, if I choose continue after repeated trial, then during log and cature, the camera can be controlled in FCP but no immage will come through, it will say “Preview Disabled”.

I tried changing the external view option to all frames under view, but it repeatedly go back to off. I tried easy setup but no way

    PLEASE HELP

Are you trying to do HDV?

No I’m only trying to capture DV clips from my DV camera. I have done this before when this was installed newly without this problem.
