    extend effect outside of image dimensions

    I am zooming out of an image and the sides cut off because of the image dimensions. I have the cc light burst effect applied and I want the effect to extend outside of the image dimensions. I have seen it done before. I am not sure how well I explained my problem.

    Effect > Utility > Grow Bounds
