  • Expressions for modifying textSource makes render slow?

Posted by Simon Robbrecht on August 24, 2010 at 10:26 am

    Hi,

I have a composition with 8 text layers, the source for the text comes from another composition (in which I import text from a .csv via a script).

When i render the very same composition in another project where the text is filled in manually (without an axpression). The render is at least 3 times faster.

The only difference between these two projects is the source for the text layer.

Does anyone have e clue how this is possible?

    Thanks

UPDATE: if i disable the expressions, the render times are back to normal. So it looks like the mere reference to a textsource in another composition slows the whole thing down.

    Does anybody have a suggestion?

    Thank you very much

Maybe try this: duplicate the comp, then in your copy, convert the expression to keyframes.
