    Hello,
this might be a really stupid question for you, but i`m just getting started with expressions and after 2 hours of pointless searching for a solution i don`t really know what to do.

I want to manipulate the opacity of several layers from one single null-layer, now to start i tried manipulating the value of a single layer (“layer 1”,a plain red layer).

After trying several different functions and methods with:
    thisComp.layer("layer 1").transform.opacity
i was stuck and now i need your help. How can i change the Opacity of “layer 1” with a expression from “null 1”

    Best Regards
    Tim

    Use property links:

    Hi,
thanks for your answer. What you wrote makes sense if i only want to control one layer with another layer, but i want to control 10 layer opacitys from one layer. Is this possible in any way ?

    Best Regards
    Tim

You can copy and paste the created expression to as many other layers as you want.

    – The Great Szalam
(The ‘Great’ stands for ‘Not So Great, in fact, Extremely Humble’)

Yes. That’s what property links were designed for. Try it.
