Is it possible to select multiple layers, turn on the expression for the position property, and then pickwhip, or some how target the position property on a null object without having to do the pickwhip thing on all 100 layers?

Yes and no. You can’t pickwhip multiple layers at once, but try using the Edit > Copy Expression Only command and pasting to your multiple layers.

You could also parent layers to a null and try it that way… do a nested comp and parent that to the null.

many ways to effect multiple layers, but none are ideal in my experience.

Good insight guys thanks, I was aware of the parenting option, looking back I probably should have started with that, but unfortunately the idea that I had involving my question didn’t really work out, but I’ll probably be using this info soon enough. Thanks for the help!
