Expression Internal Error
Hi,
I have been using expressions for years, and today I got a very weird error that I have never come across. It seems to me like a bug.
I simply want to link a layer’s opacity to the opacity of another layer, as you can see in the image attached.
I have tried referencing the layer by index and by name, but both give me the error. If I link it to the opacity of another layer, it works without problems. I only get the error when I link it to the specific shape layer. If I move the layers to other indexes, the issue remains.I am using Javascript as my Expression Engine. If I switch to the Lecacy Extendscript, it works correctly, but I don’t want to do that.

Could it be that the layer is parented to the layer you are trying to link the opacity to?

It is not but thank you for your suggestion.
I copied the layers to another composition and it worked there, so it must be a bug.
