    Hi all,

Currently I’m working on a lower third design in After Effects.

Is it possible to add an expression to let the red and white bars be as long as the text inside of it?
I tried some expressions but those where ment to be for monospaced fonts. The font I’m using isn’t.

I think it is possible and not that hard but just can’t seem to figure it out on my own.

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,
    Thom

Yes! You can use sourceRectAtTime() to drive the size of layers by other layers. Evan Abrams has some handy tutorials on using it.

    Thank you, Michael!

Second video did the trick for me. Very happy with the result.
