Hello, other than wiggle I don’t have much expression experience.

I have created a strobe effect using Levels, Tint, Colorama, and Opacity on a single layer. Using keyframes I have generated an effect I like, but the flashes occur much too regularly (right now, once every 12 frames in a 24fps composition).

I thought maybe I could one of the expression controls in the filter menu to randomize when the effect occurs, but I haven’t figured out how to:

    A) Use random in conjunction with time

    B) Have random affect the Levels, Tint, Colorama, and Opacity attributes all in the same way (for example, initiate my values for the attribues at the same random moment).

Maybe there’s a different approach? Ultimately I just want my effect (which is a dip from “normal” to the effect’s combined variables) to occur at random intervals.

Any help would be appreciated! I’m using AE CS3. Thank you.

    take care, wjm
