    Hi

I’m currently an FCP editor and may be doing some freelance work soon, so want to get some Avid software so I’m up to speed on both systems (been a few years since I used an Avid setup!).

I’m looking at getting Express Pro HD, but am currently running a 1.33GHz G4 iBook at home with 768MB RAM, and using OSX10.4.3. From the looks of the Avid website I’m not sure if this will be powerful enough – they seem to only list Powerbooks….

Anyone got any advice about whether this setup is up to the job? I’m not bothered at the moment about the HD side of things (I wouldnt expect it on an iBook!), but would it run the software OK with maybe just a RAM boost?

FCP5 runs fine on it, so I’m hoping that Express Pro will as well.

    Thanks!

I have heard you can use AXP in a macmini and iBook. but it won’t do HD in any Mac no matter its power.
i posted a similar question lets hope there is a cow with full answers.
