October 24, 2011 at 5:48 pmI believe the reason that the default is to change the shutter speed is that when you change the f-stop, there is a mechanical movement in the camera that not only makes a noise, but also makes an abrupt change in the video brightness that is very harsh. On a cinema lens, there is smooth, continuous control over aperture, where as on a photography lens there are finite steps.

November 17, 2014 at 9:46 pmTo solve your problem press menu, go one over, click the first option “movie exposure”, and click manual. Bam! Now in movie mode you can change aperture, shutter speed, and iso. From my knowledge it is basically like manual mode but allows video. I’m super stoked about this function and wish I knew about it sooner. Anyway hope that helped.
