Exporting XDCAM files
Hi folks –
Can anyone steer me to the best method for exporting XDcam files from Premiere CS3 – or from some other cheap software option?
I need to do a little color correction on some over-bright footage I shot on the EX3 for a client. I can rescue the footage to produce a nice, high quality graded image within Premiere, but having tried all the codecs installed, I can’t get the same image quality when I export. It just becomes a lower-grade file; it’s not the nice XDCAM mp4 you get initially.
I’m getting the feeling that it’s maybe because I don’t have the right codecs installed to pull it off. How can I export EXCAM files?
Background info: While my client may well want to have the option of doing color correction inhouse, I’m not sure if they’re up to the task. I want to make sure they’re OK and that I don’t look inept! I should reiterate here: the footage is eminently rescueable. Lots of lattitude in that data – it’s wonderful, really…
As for delivery method/ folder structure, my plan was to provide the original footage in one folder and an equivalent folder on the hard disk with graded footage as well.
I have already logged the footage clip by clip, so they corrected clips would have to match up not only in terms length, picture quality and also with the audio track structure.
Anyways… have a delivery deadline so your timely advice would really go a long way. Thanks in advance.
