Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy exporting wmv

  • Posted by Mark Romo on February 20, 2008 at 8:03 pm

I digitized a long PAL clip. Did a little editing and now I’m trying to export as a wmv. The clip is an hour and 24 minutes. It only exports a clip four minutes long. I checked my in & out points, I tried exporting out of the QT player, I tried exporting a full res animation file and going back into FCP then export out again, I tried exporting the Ani file out of the QT player. All to no avail.

I even tried using Episode and that gives me multiple unplayable wmv files and doesn’t stop producing them.

    Whew…. any thoughts out there?

Sorry if this is stating the obvious (you don’t mention it), but have you tried Flip4Mac Studio?

    Hi Ben,

I haven’t tried that. Shouldn’t the FCP and Episode encoders handle it? Or is that the nature of the “mixed encoding beast”.

    Thanks

I’ve just googled Episode and see that it’s made by the Flip4Mac people. So I suppose it should do what you want. I have never used it, although I have used the somewhat cheaper Flip4Mac Pro (on the same website at http://www.flip4mac.com) sucessfully to make .wmv files in the past.
