Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy Exporting WMV

  • Posted by Richard Martz on February 28, 2007 at 2:37 pm

I’m trying to do a test to export a WMV file using quicktime conversion. The video file is around 1 hour long. When we select WMV the computer takes off but only will compress around 30 seconds of material then it stops and says it it finished. What am I doing wrong. Of course it can’t be the computer or the program. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you only have the demo version of Flip4Mac and didn’t purchase the full product.

    All the best,

Well I thought we bought that some time ago but maybe I was dreaming. In any event what program do I purchase for this capability? They have several on their site:
    WMV Studio $49
    WMV Studio Pro HD $179
    WMV Studio Pro $99

Looks I might just need WMV Studio. Recommendations?

Studio is 1 pass presets only.
Studio Pro is 1 pass encodes with full user control
Studio Pro HD includes 2 pass encoding and full HD frame sizes (WMV HD).

It’s always possible you bought it and it became disabled. The demos come with the free Flip4Mac player.
Go to your System Prefs and click on Flip4Mac WMV. Go to “Upgrade” and see what it says at top in black and next to Name and Serial Number.
