    Hi,

I need to send a picture of a girl with a transparent background to after effects.

I have cut around the girl, and I have been left with a checkered background.

Now I know I have to create an alpha layer, I have selected around the girl and pressed the “Add Vector Mask” button which has created a mask in channels..underneath the Red, Green & Blue.

Now what do I do? I was told I need to simply “save as” and make sure “Alpha Channels” is selected yet when I go to “Save as” the “Alpha Channels” box is greyed out and wont let me select it..

…any help will be greatly appreciated.

Just import the PSD file into AE. If your subject has been cutout there should be no need to worry about alpha channels. If there is an alpha channel AE will usually recognize it.
