I had a similar post on The Motion forum – but I think this is maybe a better place to post this (moderators can delete my older post if they wish.)

I have had very poor results exporting out of motion into H264. So I imported the motion file directly into FCP. I have tried various sequence settings, Pro Res, H.264, Animation. But when I export to H.264 (which I need to do because this is being used for a presentation and run off a PC laptop running QuickTime Pro) it looks awful. You can see the results below. Any help is appreciated.

Render out of Motion as a ProRes file, them bring that file in to Compressor and make the h264. Don’t use Quicktime Conversion.

Ok thanks a bunch! I previewed uploaded some of my affected files to my website as an example and discovered they look fine in Firefox. So I guess I have the h264 gamma shift bug when playing back. I have wandered over to the compression forum to see if anyone has any suggestions that I haven’t tried yet …
