exporting with custom camera 1
Posted by Rob Anderson on April 8, 2008 at 7:15 pmI had a brain fart and made an entire project with the Custom camera 1 on and not the active camera so when I go to export it I get the active camera and not Custom camera 1. Could someone please help me on how I can export this with the custome camera 1 settings!
I did try and make a comp camera and turn the project but to no avail…Thanks!

April 9, 2008 at 4:25 pmthis topic comes once a week lately. I cannot recall where I saw it but somebody created a set of presets that mimics the Custom Views. It’s a google nightmare, maybe, but they’re out there someplace.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

July 22, 2010 at 8:03 pmHi,
perhaps anyone (Dave..??) knows what the exact settings are from the custom camera. I don’t have the same problem as mentioned above, but I can’t figure out the settings from the custom cams. They are really easy to use and very easy to go to a specific angle and position. When I create new cams and try to match these settings, I don’t even get close to it.
If I put the Point of Interest really close to the cam, then it moves nice and easily when rotating and moving in 3d space. But when I try to animate a cam with these settings, then the animation is really ‘bumpy’, it moves with stubborn keyframes, looking very bad, as if you are driving on a very bad road. This problem is over when you put the Point of Interest further away from the cam, this brings up the smoothness…
Second problem is the type of lens and focal distance, can’t get them to match the custom cam either. When I use settings which make it possbile to get really close on objects, then it’s always so wide angled that my entire image is starting to stretch out. With the custom cam you can get reallly close without these lens effects.
Does anyone know how to copy these settings?

July 23, 2010 at 6:42 pmHi Dave,
thanks for your reply and explanation. I understand your comment. I shall rephrase my question:
Do you know what camera settings will come nearest to the behavior of the custom view. In other words, how can I make a new camera that behaves similar to the really easy to use custom views form AE?Hopefully you (or someone else) can help with this one.
Thanks a lot in advance, regards Remco.
