Exporting with Closed Captioning in FCP7
Hello there,
I’m not familiar with closed captioning in FCP and could use a little help!
I’ve edited a short 1920×1080 video in FCP7 and need to add closed captioning to it.
I contacted a closed captioning house and they sent me a .mov file for my video. When I add the .mov to V2 I see what looks like timecode at the top of the frame in the canvas window, and not the captions that I expected.
Most sources for instruction I’ve found online have to do with outputting to tape, but I just have to deliver a .mov that can be uploaded to YouTube with CC and a DVD of the video with and without CC.
Is there a way to export the video from FCP7 with the .mov CC file provided?

CLOSED CAPTIONS EXPLAINED
Can someone help me out please.
I am an artist and I work in FCP 7. I have been asked by a friend to close caption a 2 mins video clip for deaf people. She wants to upload the clip to youtube but does not want the captions burnt into the video, but would like them to become optional to turn on by the viewer.
Can I do this in FCP, or do I need to work in another programme. I don’t have a budget, it’s just to do a favour for my friend.
Can you please share with me, how i might go about this: step by step?
