  • Exporting Videos for Music Scoring

I am a music producer and am wondering what the best procedure is to score videos I make in FCP. Totally new to FCP and just spending some time each night trying to learn it.

I need to export an edited video so I can import into Pro Tools or Cubase, then take the music I record there and import it back into FCP. Great image quality is not important for the temporary video I would need while scoring.

    Thanks much!

    Hi,

Assuming you don’t have Compressor installed, you can export it by changing export options in the export window. Normally when you choose File > Share > Export File you come up with Format Video Audio and Source Apple Prores 422. You can change here for example: Video Audio to Computer and Video Codec to H264 faster. You can also lower the resolution if you want.
