  Exporting video yields two black bars on the sides; ‘fattens’ image

  Another question, sorry; I’m relatively new at this particular editing software.

  I capture everything successfully, but upon playing the video in quicktime, there are two black vertical bars on the left and right sides of the film and everything seems stretched out wide. I’m assuming something is changing with the aspect ratio… I shot in 4:3 on a DVX100 (at least I think so, seeing as a DVX100 can’t shoot in anything besides 4:3) but is a conversion happening here? The images are almost unusable because they’re so wide and inaccurate.
