Exporting video with transparency
I need to use various video clips as part of an interactive peice. I intend to film people on a green screen and remove the green and export the clip with only the figures visable.
Can I do this?
Even when I remove the backgroud and export it there’s still a black background when I load up the saved .mov file. -

You need to turn transparency on before you export (at the bottom of the viewer – the little checkerboard icon) and be sure to export with Alpha.

All you need do is save in a format that allows “million colors +”. The checkerboard switch doesn’t affect alpha channel rendering (of output files).

I would also suggest reading up on Straight Alpha vs. Premultiplied if you have the time. Whether you’re rendering out or importing video with alpha channels, it’s good to know what you should be using!
