Exporting video for the Wb
Hey Guys, I have a question about exporting video for the internet. I am using final cut pro 5.0, power pc dual g5, 4 gb of ram. I recently shot a music video and when I export it, it looks fine, but when I upload it on to a website i.e. myspace.com it looks totally blocky and very dark nothing like the original. I used compressor and used the web download and web streaming setting on all kbps settings but only to get the same result when I uploaded it. I have seen other videos on myspace and the such that look really good so I know there must be a way to do it. Would anyone have any ideas on what I should do to try and get this same result. I dont knwo if it’s software or a certain type of setting that I need to be using? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Most websites like myspace and youtube actually recompress your uploaded videos into thier own formatting. I’d check thier instructions and make sure you’re using a codec they suggest.

Hey thanks for the responce, I have read a couple of how to articles on exporting for the web, one of the targeted escpecially for youtube, and unfortnatly all of them gave me the same result a blocky low res version of my video. I have seen a couple of videos on myspace that looked really clear I mean awesomly clear. But I cant seem to generate that same result. Is it that I need a 3rd party software package or is it just the nature of FCP? It seems that I can’t find teh answer anywhere.

what program are you compressing your media with and what format?

Douse your video have a lot of black or dark areas, even good compression can easily be seen in blacks and dark areas.
