  • Exporting to .swf……file size huge?????? Please help!!!

Posted by Planokidd on July 27, 2006 at 10:16 pm

In a nutshell – I have a 600 x 400 image in AE and a VERY small QT video thats 27 seconds and only 1MB. When I export this to SWF it ends up being about 7-8MB. What’s up with that?? Yes, I’m aware of using the .flv format, but unfortunatley what I’m doing with this I can’t use it.

    Please help anyone…

    Thanks a ton!

jus the way it is, there are only three options, lower the quality, sizer movie size, less frame rate, it will still look okay if you cut the frame rate to 15 frame per sec

Wow! There has to be some way to do this. I see sites all the time that have crazy 3D stuff going on…like this site https://www.billybussey.com/main.html

I even took a simple image and exported it and it was 1.9MB…this makes no sense. It almost would defeat the perpose of exporting anything as .SWF if thats the case.

    Am I doing something wrong?

    Confused

You are not doing anything wrong, you just have to use another program (as they do) to make the file smaller. They probably use Sorenson Squeeze to do it, it’s amazing what it can do with video compression.
    Take a look at https://www.sorensonmedia.com/

    I hope it helps
