  • exporting to quicktime movie settings HV30

I have just made my first test footage with my new HV30 and want to export it to a quicktime movie, but every setting I try seems like it stretches it (even tho it’s shot and edited in 16:9) I am running FCP6 on a macbook with a HV30 imported using pro res 422 1920×1080 and shot at 25p.
    Any help much appreciated !!

ok, you might have to excuse my ignorace, but does that mean I check the anamorphic box? cause if I do, it stretches it even more…

No, you don’t need to check the box. FCP already knows it’s anamorphic becuse the pixel aspect is set for 1440×1080.

Quicktime is showing you the actual frame size of 1440×1080 without stretching it. What are you exporting it for? DVD? The web?

hey, i know this post has been a while, but am just wondering what is the best to do.

I am importing 25p PAL footage into my final cut (what’s the best import settings?) and I need to export for both Web AND DVD – what is the best export settings.

Am shooting 25p as it’s more filmic and want to retain that.

When I import at 1080i50 (and 1080p25) and then export (using h.264, sorenson, none, hdv etc etc) they all come out jittery and then stall and then freeze and dont play.

    Anyway, any help greatly appreciated…

    Tris.
