    Hello,
I’m using a Matrox Axio system and trying to export a completed project to QuickTime, motion J-Peg B or animation. Although I’ve done this in the past, I’m now getting an error message that says “Error compiling movie. Unable to create or open output file” To troubleshoot I’ve tried using very small clips,…same result. I’ve opened a new project and imported an .avi from the show,…same result. I opened a new project and imported a still picture from hard drive,…same result. I opened a new project using 10 bit uncompressed and then imported a piece of the show,…same result.
I’ve edited the project using the Matrox M-Peg 2-I Frame 1080i@29.97 HD codec to render the AVIs. I also selected Matrox M-Peg 2-I Frame 1080i@29.97 when setting up the project originally. Could that be a factor?
When I’m exporting to movie, I’m selecting the following: QuickTime, Motion J-Peg B or Animation and work area (instead of sequence). The rest of the information I’m leaving in its default form, for example, square pixels, first frame, data box checked, etc.

Thank you for any help you can give,
    Mary

What version of Premiere Pro? Have you applied the most recent Premiere Pro updates? Have you applied the most recent Matrox updates?
