Exporting to Premiere
I have just composited some particles from Wondertouch PIllusion onto some video footage.
The video was captured through Premiere, creating DV video, in PAL, 4:3. It was shot and captured progressive, and I want to keep it that way.
After adding the particle effects, how can I export to maintain the video quality as it was in the captured clip? I have exported it numerous times, but the file size is either half of the original clip, or without any compression it was nearly a GB (25secs!). When imported into my project, the compression needed some rendering before it could be viewed properly. What is the deal? Why does it not behave like the DV footage I captured? Why does it needed rendering in my Premiere project? -

If imported clips don’t match the timeline settings in Premiere, they will have to be rendered in the timeline in Premiere. If you are creating a composited clip (footage + effects) in AE, you should render to the same codec and settings you used in Premiere: DV. This should not require rendering in Premiere if it matches the timeline settings.
If you are creating effects only, to be composited in Premiere, you should render in AE to the Animation codec with alpha channel (millions +, RGB+alpha), then composite that over the shot footage within Premiere. This will require rendering in Premiere.
