Hi all. I have three different After Effects projects I’d like to display on my portfolio page. They’re about 3, 4, and 5.5 MB’s. I have them on the site as Quicktime videos.

I’d like to reduce the file sizes so that they don’t take too long to load. Can anyone suggest the best way to export from AE to get a small file size and keep a good quality… Please walk me through it step my step…

If there’s a better file type please suggest that as well. Thanks!

    Hi Chris,

You might try changing your Format Options in the Output Module of your render queue. I know that mine defaults to the Animation Codec, which can be a bit of a space hog.

Try setting your Format Option to H.264. Also check to make sure that (in Render Settings) your field render is set to off.

There are probably some other ways to achieve smaller file size, but this has always worked for me as far as maintaining best image quality.
