I’m having a terrible time exporting my timeline to H-264. The last export attempt took 6 hours then avid sent this message “Exception movie export and procedure failed errcode-2034. I have never been able to figure out their codes.
This is a 130 minute documentary shot HDV, captured at 1080i-60, 48k on the audio.
The last time I tried to export these were the specs

    QT movie…enable tracks

    Video Format
    Compression-H264
    Quality-Medium
    Key Frame Rate – 24
    Encoding mode: multi pass

    Audio Format
    Format-Uncompressed
    Sample rate 48k
    Sample size 16
    Channels 2

I am running on a Quad core 3.2 MHZ
    4 GB 800 MHZ DDR2 FB-Dimm
    Mac OS 10.5.8
    Avid Media Composer 3.0.0.56860 Universal

I look forward to getting any input.

    Thanks, Bill

You’re running an unsupported configuration. MC 3.0 was never qualified to run under OSX 10.5.8 (which came out very recently). Check the Avid version matrix and make sure that you are running your MC under the right combination of OS and Quicktime(!).
Issues like failing exports often have to with OS and/or QT incompatibility.

Thanks for the info. As it turns out I needed to render all effects before trying to make the file. I’ll look into your suggestion. Thanks for the heads up
