Exporting to Compressor
I’m using Compressor for the first time since I upgraded my FCS which I assume upgraded Compressor to 3.5. I’m converting my FCP project to make DVDs. When I submit my project, it simply says “waiting,” and does nothing. Is there a setting I’m missing or what’s going on?

Are you just using file/send to/compressor? Wonder if trashing your plist for compressor might fix this and/or trashing prefs for FCP… It’s not a bug nor is it a bad setting you could change don’t think.
If you export a self contained movie and open that in Compressor instead, then I’ll wager it will work OK, and still allow you to work in FCP during the compression… If you export a non self contained file, it should work OK too and be pretty fast if all of the renders are complete in your source sequence.

I exported a self contained movie and tried that with the same results. I’ll try trashing the plist for compressor. Thanks.

Yeah, do that, and it’s good news actually that the self contained file exported OK. This does point right at something gone wonky in Compressor.
Troubleshooting is always a matter of ruling out the possibilities one at a time.

Actually, not sure how to trash the plist in Compressor.

It’s the file located at Mac HD/Library/preferences folder/ you’ll find it there. just drag it to the trash, and restart your apps! It get’s rebuilt to factory settings upon relaunch. Don’t empty the trash until you’ve found success so you could put it back if need be. Maybe put it on the desktop first? I’ve never seen a problem doing this however.

I don’t see a compressor plist. is it called something else?
