  • Exporting to Avid Uncompressed Codec

Hi everyone, I’m trying to export some files to a client who is asking for “QT files to use Avid Uncompressed codec, RGB, 1920 x 1080 progressive” and I am using FCP. I downloaded the Avid codecs from their website but get an error message whenever I try to use them in both FCP and Compressor. I’ve tried mixing and matching lots of different options but I get an error immediately every time I try to export/compress. Here are my settings when using Compressor with the Avid codec:

    Name: Avid Meridien Uncompressed
    Description: No description
    File Extension: mov
    Estimated size: unknown
    Video Encoder
    Format: QT
    Width: 1920
    Height: 1080
    Pixel aspect ratio: Square
    Crop: None
    Padding: None
    Frame rate: (100% of source)
    Frame Controls: Automatically selected: Off
    Codec Type: Avid Meridien Uncompressed
    Multi-pass: Off, frame reorder: Off
    Pixel depth: 32
    Spatial quality: 100
    Min. Spatial quality: 0
    Temporal quality: 0
    Min. temporal quality: 0

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Matt

    don’t use Meridien for HD.

Use Avid 1:1x if you want uncompressed.
