October 29, 2008 at 3:27 pmNo camera can do what you are asking…even high end professional cameras. That is not how they are designed, or what they are designed to do. And you cannot do this via firewire. It has to be done with a capture card and RS-422 deck control.

Hey Shane,
Is there a similar option in Avid Media Composer?
Thanks,

You know, I have no idea. The last time I striped a tape for Avid I did it in the deck. I found that FCP’s ability to do it in the app cool. But who knows, Avid might now have that. I’ll have to check.

April 8, 2010 at 7:14 amWhen I work with Avid I usually stripe tapes on the deck as well but in this case (at Home) I don’t have a deck with internal signal generators for bars and black. Any tipps anyone?
