Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy Exporting Text

    Good afternoon everyone,

I am slowly trying to make the transition from Avid to FCP Pro and have hit a snag with exporting. I used to export my 3-4 minute videos by using QT conversion, and it was fine, but took too long. For the sake of hastening the process, I am experimenting with exporting as a QT movie that is NOT self-contained. I am converting the QT movies into flash files, so I only need/want the video to be exported quick and with a small frame size (480 x 270 – From HDV). So, I’ve gotten the video to export at the quality that I want and the correct aspect ratio, the only snag is that the Text that I put over my lower third graphic is not coming out proportionate (I made the text using the lower third slug in FCP Pro). It comes out much taller than the rest of the video, which seems to be proportionate and high quality. My export settings are listed below. I’ve tried completely rendering the timeline, didn’t work, and I’m out of ideas. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Is there somewhere that I can do a video mixdown, like in avid?

Thank you for any help you can give!

    Frame size – 480 x 270
    Aspect Ratio – Custom 16:9
    Pixel Aspect Ratio – NTSC.CCIR 601/DV 720 408
    Field Dominance – None
    Editing Timebase – 29.97
Timecode rate – Same as editing timebase
QT video settings _H.264 (I’ve tried Mpeg 4 as well)
