I wonder if you can help me…

I have a foreign language docu Im editing in Vegas, but am now switching to FCPX to edit in.

I have already tried to export the project files to FCPXML…With no luck. So Ive given up on that. I plan to just recreate the project in FCP by importing the original footage.

There are, however, a great deal of subtitles, and I’m loath to create these in FCPX again, which will take days…

Anyone know of a workaround I could possibly use to copy the subs from vegas to a program and then import in FCPX?

    Many thanks,

[james henson] “I have already tried to export the project files to FCPXML…With no luck.”

Yes, I hear that’s useless. Very strange. Maybe export an EDL or regular XML and try going through Resolve to FCP X?

I guessing even with a functioning FCPXML it wouldn’t translate correctly. I’d simply export the subtitles from Vegas with alpha and superimpose them in FCP?

I unfortunately know nothing about Vegas (or Windows), so I’d have to leave that explanation up to someone else, sorry.

Same as Robin I don’t know anything about Vegas.

The Vegas manual suggests the following.

The .srt file can be used with my X-Title Importer to get the subtitles into FCP X.

Ooh… it does .srt files? Well, then forget what I said about the alphas and follow Andreas’ suggestion. Much easier and faster.
