    Hullo!

I have a question about exporting stills. My project is 4:3 but when I export stills from it, they look stretched to 16:9. I haven’t changed anything. I’m just going export–>Using Quicktime Conversion–>Format–>Still image (Default Settings). I’ve played around with various Options but the image is always stretched.

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks,
    Marisa

That’s because video uses rectangular pixels, and still images work in square pixels. Open your still in Photoshop and re-size to 640×480 (the square pixel equivalent to the rectangular pixel 720×480). That should do the trick.

Thank you, Richard! I’m not very familiar with photoshop but managed to find a NTSC-sized pixel aspect ratio option in photoshop, so I used that, and it looks great!
