Hey everyone. Does anyone know how to export AIF audio splits out of FCP and have all splits exported in one pass. I know that I can do channel grouped audio if I have my timeline set to be using more than 2 channels. However, the way that my system is set up, I need to have only a 2 channel setup. Any advice would be great.

If I understand you, you want to export each audio track as it’s own mono file, so that channels 1 and 2 aren’t linked in one file.

To do this, open you sequence setting, select the audio outputs tab on the right and change the Grouping to Dual Mono. This will now export two files. I you want more files exported, then you need to change the number of audio outputs to however many exports you need. From there you will need to map which track exports to which audio output by right clicking on the track (right over the lock) and changing the audio output.

Now that you’ve done this, select File-Export-Audio to AIFF(s). This will output each track as mono or stereo, depending on what you selected in the audio outputs tab and depending on which output the track is mapped to.

Hopefully I explained it well enough. If you have other questions, please ask.

I’ve tried this setup, but it doesn’t work as I am only using channels 1-4 on my mixer so if if I setup my edit this way, I won’t hear anything on tracks 5-8.

You need to select downmix output in the audio mixer to hear the other channels. The button is right above the audio levels meter in the audio mixer window.

Wow, thanks Russ. That did it. I really appreciate it. Any idea on my other question I posted today?
