exporting size
I am having trouble with exporting my videos in premiere cs3 to a reasonable size. I had a one and a half hour video come out as a seventeen GB file. How can I make it to around 2 or 3 GB

Reasonable, is a hard question. To me, it’s reasonable that 30 mins of uncompressed SD is 30 gigs. And 30 min of uncompressed HD is nearly 200 gigs.
You can absolutely get the finished work down to 2-3 gigs (after all, MPEG2 encoding for a DVD has to be smaller than this!).
It would help to know what sort of format you’re working with (is it HD? What kind?) and what you’re intending to do with it at the end? Youtube? DVD? BluRay?
