  • Exporting quicktime sync issues – am I on the right track?

    Hello all,

I am trying to export a 50 minute long sequence so that I can run it through compressor and burn it to DVD, but the exported quicktime files slowly go out of sync.

    • Shot on an EX1, in 108024p, edited natively in the same format, exported to After Effects for grading, motion graphics, lower thirds, etc…

    • Imported the AFX exported animation files back in to the sequence, with the same native codec.

    • Going to Export>quicktime file, and then ending up with an out of sync file

    • Also have nested sequences in this timeline

Now, I have mixed formats & frame rates in my sequence. A couple clips at 29.97. This seems like it is most likely the reason why I’m having sync issues when I go to export.

Should I try converting the sequence to pro res HQ and then exporting a ref file, then taking it to compressor?

Or do I have to go in and reconvert each of those 29.97 clips to 24p?

Are the mixed frame rates most likely the culprits behind this sync issue?

Thanks to anyone willing to help out.
