Exporting Quick Time Movie with EX1 footage
Hello,
I have exported a quicktime movie (I did not use quicktime conversion). The movie plays back fine on the computer where I have FCP installed. When I try to open up the movie on another mac, it does not play back. Sometimes there is sound and no picture, other times there is nothing.
The footage is from the Sony EX1 camera and was imported using the XDCAM transfer tool.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

You’ll need to convert the file to something that is more generic than XDCAM to play on other computers. Unless the XDCAM codec is installed on the computer, the files will not play correctly.
Generally we convert everything to H.264 using Compressor for general playback on all computers, Windows and Mac.
