I’m currently working on a 90min. video in Premiere and a 6min. spiced
up intro in After Effects which will have to be brought together to
    complete the overall video.

Was wondering if I should export my 90 min video in Premiere and
import it into AE to add it after my intro I’ve created in AE which
will then be exported and then imported into a DVD authoring program

    or

should I go the other route and export my 6 min intro in AE and import
it into Premiere to add it before my video I’ve created in Premiere
which will then be exported and then imported into a DVD authoring
    program?

    Also,
What format does the intro need to be when exporting from AE and
    brought into Premiere?

What format does the video need to be when exporting from Premiere and
    brought into AE?

Should there be compression settings when exporting?

Sorry to blast ya with all these redundant questions. I’m just finding
it hard to find the answers to my questions. There are so many export
options and different format choices to choose from. I’m just not sure
what I’m supposed to do after I’m finished with the video and want to
bring it into a DVD authoring program to burn a master DVD to give to
    the duplication studio.

    Thanks

I’d say go from AE > Premier
first off you’re dealing with transfering a 6 minute movie vs a 90 minute one. Premiere may be better at handleing/editing video vs AE that does animating and effects. It may be slower to try and render out a 96 minute movie in AE vs doing it in Premier.

As for format I’m not a master of this. but I’ll say make sure it’s a “Lossless” formate (aka you don’t lose any quality) maybe either an AVI or a Quicktime.

Here’s an atricle discussing the various pros and cons of some of the bigger/better codecs

    Hey,

AE to Premiere, make sure to use something like the Quicktime Animation codec for best quality.

Once you bring in the .mov file into Premiere and everything is ready to go, simply render out an .m2v and .m2a file to bring into your DVD authoring app. Saves both time and hard drive space.

    Take care,

    Nick

When exporting from After Effects. I see the options AVI., DV Stream., and MPEG-4., and a few others. So should I export it as a AVI. file? If so, the AVI video settings have DV/DVCPRO-NTSE , None and a few others. What should it be set to and should it be set to best quality?

Also, what would these other export options (AVI., DV Stream., and MPEG-4.) be used for as well as the video settings?

    Thanks so much..

Read the manual under “make movie” and “render queue”.
