    Hi
I am new to Premier, coming from FCP and have a few questions. Is there anyway to export between the in/out points or do I have to set the work area to fit the I/O points. If that is the case is there a fast way to set the work are to match the I/O points?
Also once I have a sequence is there anyway to change the dimensions of the video (from 640×480 to 720 x480)?
    Thanks

Q will bring you to the in point, then hit ALT+[ to set the “in point” of the work area. W will bring you to the out point then use ALT+] to set the “out point” of the work area.

As far as switching the video size, are you talking about changing the sequence settings or changing the actual video itself?

Thanks for the reply. As for sizing I would like to keep the footage the same dimension but change the frame. For example, if I have a 640×480 clip and then want to put another clip next to it I would need to change the frame size to 1280 x 480.

You can’t change the timeline’s dimensions, but you can create a new timeline with those custom dimensions and cut and paste your video into it. You have to select DESKTOP instead of a preset in the Timeline settings. When you do that, you can enter the custom width of the video. I assume this video would be for something like WEB only since it’s not following a standard video dimension?
